Autobiography So everything began in 1980, June 9, or, probably, 9 months earlier, or, probably, even earlier when my parents met? It all depends on the point of view, how deep do you want to be into it - but this is the philosophy which I`m not so good at though Aced at the exam :). I was born in Vitchuga city, Ivanovo region, Russia. My grandparents (father side) lived there and they were very helpful with my sister and me. My parents lived in Ivanovo, the regional center but we visited my grandparents quite often. Our 1st apartment has only a tiny room and even smaller kitchen for 5 people to live in - my parents, sister, my mom`s mother and me. But we were happy. As I was told I was a very quiet child, liked to play with car toys (as all the boys do) and do constructions. So my parents thought I was going to become an architect, they were amazed by my patience when I was "creating" or building something. In 1985 we got the new big apartment - 4 rooms - what a luxury in that time. My father and mother lovingly created a cozy home, doing all the remodeling and some furniture by themselves. Those 2 years I went to the kindergarten without any wish at all as my thoughts were returning to our country house and my grandparents. In 1987 began to attend school No. 50 in Ivanovo and graduated in 1997.During my junior school my room looked like a real workshop - I assembled small plane and boat models and soon got the whole collection. I remember I was crazy about all the stuff that can move and was making everything from car toys with engine till flying plane models. Once got a 1st prize at boat model competition. In our country tried to fix everything - bicycles, motorcycle, uncle's bike, Dad's car. When I was 13-15 years old I was fond of woodwork. Here are the photos of some of my projects, a few of them I have home. Then I got interested in radio electronics - was assembling radios, disco music lights, anti-theft and security systems - everything that caught my interest. My favorite movies were Bugs, Terminator, Matrix etc. At school I was not so good at Arts (Literature, Languages, History etc) - but my sister always helped me with it, she used to write all the compositions for me. But Science (Math, Geometry, Physics) was easy for me. Though I should admit that Computer Science wasn't interesting for me at that time. I think the matter was in the school program or the way of teaching. During the graduation year spent all my time preparing for entering exams at the University - tutors, problem solving etc. As a result of my hard work aced at Physics and Math at the University and they gave me credit for it at school where I had to take only Composition and Algebra and THAT WAS IT! So in 1997 I became the freshman of Ivanovo Power University, majoring in Computer Science (after family advice) and System Administration. The first two years were the most interesting time for me - we studied Programming, Hardware, Software and Computer operation systems. Then there were subjects of my other major - Automatic, Engineering, Metrology etc. There's no doubt that it` s all useful but computers and programming were more interesting for me so I spent all my free time studying them thoroughly. After first four years of studying was about to receive Summa cum laude but then found some more interesting things to do. During summer vacations after 3d and 4th year at the University I went to the States to work for 3-4 months. First time I wanted to practice my English (and it helped), to see the country and earn some money. And for the 2nd year the main reason was money. I worked in children's camps, hotel, resort and restaurant there. Work experience in Russia includes different customers` computer and web projects and I hope to continue my business in that field. |
